Floribis partner producer associations Malagasy
Floribis is a company known for producing vanilla pod from Madagascar. Since its existence, the company hasn’t stopped improving to become Madagascar’s first artisan perfumer due to hard work and collaboration with several producers in the region of SAVA, near the plantations managed by the company.
For a partnership and a long-term commitment
In the Sava region, Floribis works with 14 associations in the districts of Vohémar, Sambava, Andapa and Sava. They have 1170 producers supplying the factory with plants such as Gnidia, Vetiver, Acacia, Ylang, Honey, Tsiperifery and Vanilla.
This associative structure makes partnership easier because it is used as an interlocutor between the two parties. In addition, it is a beneficial partnership to all because it is also a mutual commitment. It ensures the traceability of products, a prerequisite for export on a global scale and supports as well as supervises producers who do not have to worry about the market of their products.
At the same time, it is an opportunity for the producers to diversify their source of income because Floribis continues to offer new sectors. On the other hand, the communities around the plantations will be able to flourish thanks to the various community projects: the setting up of fountains, the creation of schools and others.
Finally, this collaboration plays a key role in protecting the environment by organizing reforestation schedules and by popularizing beekeeping.
Farmers’ associations, a social importance not to be overlooked
Each associations’ leader greatly value their group. They can communicate to share new information through meetings to assure cohesion between members. Each president represents his association at the level of the authorities and Floribis. Apart from that, he ensures that everyone achieves his objectives and respects the rules of quality.
Work within the association can be a source of additional income for some, a vocation for others. In any case, they all aim to improve the quality of their products and also to increase their production.
An animator takes care of the daily monitoring and quality control of the collections as well as their selection and thus guarantees compliance with pre-established farming techniques within the factory.
